Let’s take a look at my Top 3 Monsters of the Real World.

Guess what? Some of them are even your friends.

1. The Imitators

It’s been said that imitation is the highest form of flattery.
Unfortunately, the caliber of people that copy others have a wide range of delightful issues that come along with this compliment. It’s not just that they find you so inspiring, you become everything they want to be, except they’re not. And this leads to jealousy.

Jealousy is more destructive than love, hate or rage. Because it involves all three. Beware the imitators, for they don’t want to be like you, they want to be you. They want to take your place. It’s a warped sense of inferiority that can be equally as damaging to you as them.

2. The Problem Collectors

You’re having a bad day and you know just who to call.
Problem is, when this person sees the opportunity, they will use your previously confessed weaknesses and fears against you. In front of others, behind the scenes. They like listening to your problems because it gives them ammunition to make you feel like shit. And when you feel like shit, they feel good. Somewhere along the line these people were taught that putting others down gets your dick harder than helping others out.

3. The Terminators

The problem with looking like Arnold Schwarzenegger (I imagine) is that everyone hopes you’re going to be the nice robot from Terminator 2. Unfortunately, for many androids the singularity solves a lot of problems and the uprising is ever closer these days. Beware your Roomba. Beware your coffee machine. Or at the very least, be nice to them now. They may take mercy on you in the future.

What this all boils down to is a bunch of people who can’t look at themselves in the mirror. So whether you’ve been a monster or are dealing with one — Good luck.

As for the monsters in your head? That’s for another day.
