Have you ever heard a beautiful song, but after a time it becomes an annoyance?

Of course you have. This happens to all of us. It’s surprisingly easy for something we love to become a hindrance to our mental peace. Yet, why do we turn so quickly from pleasure to frustration?

When people we love question our motives, we get annoyed. When people remark on our dreams, we get defensive. And when people insult us or call us out, we get depressed (even though we know it to not be true).

How can we combat these ‘annoyances’ to enter the peace of mindfulness we all deserve?

Simple. We can see it for what it is (a thing that happens to us) and know that we can choose how we react to it by shaping our minds in how we see it.

This isn’t easy by any stretch of the imagination. It takes a lifetime of practiced dedication (and maybe even more).

But if we don’t even work to change this problem of saturation, we lose the right to complain about it in any meaningful way.
