To have good health

is life’s greatest blessing.

Yup. Bet you’ve never heard that one before.

Wait. You have?

Of course we all have.

Heard it before.

But, do we remember?

Do we really remember when we are stuck in a long line, the basement floods, we lose our keys, our child fails a test, a flight is delayed, the team loses, the car tire is flat, the dog steals your dinner off of the counter, a job is lost, your phone falls in the lake, your favorite show is cancelled, hurtful words were spoken, the refrigerator dies, the cake did not rise, ink was spilled on your favorite shirt, etc, etc, etc.

It is so easy to take for granted. Health. Until you or somebody you love does not have it.

There are the little inconveniences like colds and the stomach flu.

There are the resolvable inconveniences like a broken arm or a kidney stone.

There are the day in, day out inconveniences like diabetes or celiac disease.

And then, there are inconveniences that will take lives and forever change the lives surrounding the life taken.

Send up a prayer of gratitude right now if you and yours are fortunate to have health.

Your life is never the same without it.

And all those things that seemed so inconvenient, well, you realize they weren’t really so inconvenient at all. They were just a part of this wonderful thing called life.
