Every year, come December, Sophia would wrap herself in a warm fuzzy blanket on Christmas eve. Her mom would sit by her bedside and read one of her favorite Christmas stories before she would close her eyes.
The Christmal carols were the same, the story read she had a heard so many times, but every year on Christmas eve, even though her eyes were shut, she could never truly bring herself to a deep sleep. There was an exciting tingle in her little heart, a fuzzy warm feeling, a steadfast anticipation : Santa is coming!

She had spent the past few days imagining what it would be like when Santa comes and she gets to unwrap her gift.
She had also spent quite some time worrying about her behaviour that year, replaying in her mind episodes of her disobedience and she wondered how much that would affect the gift she so dreamed of. Her thoughts, her worries, her anticipation, her expectation were hers, not her mother’s, not her dad’s, but hers alone.
Our thoughts, our worries, our drive, our purpose are so personal, they can never be the fruit of anything else than that of who we are.
Sophia is Sophia. You are you.

Attempting to separate thoughts from a person would be like separating a shadow from a subject. One casts the other, one follows the other. Similarly, we think the things we think because as persons, we casts those shadow of thoughts. In return, those shadows follow us., they are a projection of who we are. Wherever we go, our thoughts are the same whether in France or England. As long as there is a sun, you will cast a shadow whether in New Zealand or America. We think what the think because we are who we are. Our thoughts are a result of who we are, and who we are is determined by what thoughts we have. That’s why changing a mentality is much more difficult than a comprehensive 5 point plan or “10 easy steps to change your mindset”.
Changing a mindset requires a profound transformation : changing the person.
