Sometimes it feels like everything is slowly conspiring to trip you up.

Like you’ve got a map and a compass but someone’s fiddled with the directions. X may mark the spot, but every step you take is leading you further away.

It’s like there’s some bloke behind the curtains stifling a snigger as he watches you slip up on the banana skin he left lying on the floor whilst your back was turned.

Like you’re just the brunt of some joke, and every time you approach the cool kids they stop talking and (badly) hide their amusement.

It’s like you just know you can’t win, so you may as well just toss in the towel now.

That’s what it feels like.

But not how it is.

So when you trip up? Brush off your pants and stand back up.

Throw away the map and pull out the GPS on your phone — come on people it’s 2017.

Throw some water at the curtain, who’s laughing now?

And if the cool kids are laughing, let them laugh because — really — who gives a damn.

Get your arse back in the game, put in the work and use the towel to wipe the sweat off your brow.
