Heron Preston ’07 brings his outsider perspective to the fashion, art, and music worlds.

Heron Preston, BBA Strategic Design and Management ’07, is an artist, creative director, content creator, designer, and DJ.

Since graduting, Preston worked for both Nike and Kanye West before founding his own eponymous label in 2016. The label, Heron Preston, features sport- and streetwear-inspired separates and accessories nascent brand signatures including a near-fluorescent orange hue, the Cyrillic word for “style,” interpretations of herons as avian prints, and further collaborations including link-ups with Carhartt, Virgil Abloh’s Off-White, Nike, and, even, NASA.

In 2016, he launched UNIFORM at the Spring Street Salt Shed in NYC, a catalog of zero waste themed clothes created in collaboration with the NYC Department of the Sanitation(DSNY). In 2017, he presented his 2017–2018 fall-winter collection For You, The World at Paris Fashion Week. In 2018, Preston launched a new collection in collaboration with NASA to celebrate its 60th anniversary. Preston also runs the e-commerce platform HPC Trading Co, where he features his curated collections of art, music and fashion.

Preston has received a number of accolades: he is on both the Business of Fashion’s BoF 500 and Hypebeast 100 lists. He is also a 2019 Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Emerging Designer of the Year nominee.
