I did what they did in films: drew a circle around the ad that interested me, with a highlighter.
To find a job you’d search in a printed newspaper. You’d read through a long alphabetical list of descriptions shorter than tweets, written using some adult code.

It took me a while to understand that many would start with a string of a’s to put them higher on the list. I thought it meant to indicate shouting, to signal how desperate they are to hire.
