Two buttons

The only game I would play was flipper.

Other games stressed me. Especially those where you had to compete with another player, or to learn how to move the character — to jump or make fancy kicks — before you could actually play.

Flippers were simple. Failure came from bad luck, not from a lack of buttons’ mastery.

There is a picture of me somewhere, tall enough to have my chin just over the flipper machine, focusing on the ball, with mouth half-open.

I didn’t know what flipper meant. A dolphin Flipper was a star of an American TV show. To me there was as much reason for this name as for the name Yataman, from a Japanese anime.
