Fear of success

Of all of the ways The Resistance can deceive you, the self-deception involved in the fear of success is the most profound.

If I’m successful, I’ll have to keep working on it. I’ll be even more busy! Before you’ve picked up a pencil, or written a line of code, you’ve convinced yourself you better not.

With fear of success, you get to convince yourself that you are completely capable of building the fantastic fortress you have in your head. Yet, you don’t have to do any work, because you don’t want the responsibility it would bring.

Start small enough that even The Resistance can’t convince you those fears are real.
