Finding your passion won’t make you successful, but here’s what it can do
Finding your passion is overrated. Passion alone won’t make you successful.
It’s not passion’s fault that people hold this false belief. Of course people want to believe that they can be passionate about their work, and success will soon follow. It’s like believing in an ice cream diet.
There is one thing very powerful passion. When you’re passionate about something, you can withstand the uncomfortable things you need to do to be successful.
When you have late nights, rejection, failure, fear, and the discomfort of deliberate practice, passion can motivate you to pick yourself up off the ground, dust yourself off, and keep going. Passion can pull you through.
