There’s always tomorrow
When you have a creative habit, such as writing 100 words a day, there’s always tomorrow.
This sounds like it would prevent good work, but it actually makes great work possible. When today’s work has to be the best, it becomes too hard to start. When you can’t start, you never finish.
When there’s always tomorrow, it’s okay if today’s work isn’t the best. Beethoven composed 650 pieces to have a handful of great ones.
It’s by doing the work—whether it’s good or not—day in and day out, that you can do work that stands the test of time.
