When did your best ideas come to you? It was probably when you weren’t even trying. You solved a problem in the shower, or your gained clarity on a beach vacation.

But if we have thinking to do, we try really hard to do it. If we need to write a report, we imagine powering through it in one sitting. We put it off, because that sounds hard. If we do try, we burn out before we get too far.

If we do our best thinking when we aren’t thinking, then why don’t we take advantage of that?
