Don’t underestimate Donald Trump

Whether you like it or not, Donald Trump is leading in the poll for GOP presidential candidates. And it is for a solid reason – certain demographics actually believe in what he said. (We Hongkongese actually have two equivalents of Trump, Ann Chiang and Christopher Chung, though they are different in some degree. Chris doesn’t know how to spell his name, for instance.)

While libertarians and democrats may well think Trump is trolling the world, what we should face is that a certain proportion of the population see him with a different lens. Barely are technology and communication advancement and the new structure of world politics relevant to them, and so Trump’s rhetorics do speak their mind and do represent their values, which has always been true to them in the old times.

The more screen time granted to the people like Trump, the easier can he people to stand behind them. And they will continue trolling the world.
