The Manifesto
1001 Modern Nights is a publication on Medium established to promote and host all stories regarding the Middle East and its rich culture.
The Middle East is filled with wonders. Aladdin, Sindbad, Ali Baba, Juha, and Kalila wa-Dimna are just a drop in the ocean of the many characters in the Middle Eastern fables and myths. The Middle East is also home to great food, music, art, and more. We want to share our stories and culture with everyone, away from the grim presentation in the media.
What you won’t see on our pages is as important as what you will.
The Middle East is home to many cultures and religions. Biased stories about politics or beliefs simply do not interest us. We are looking for stories and topics that show the richness of Middle Eastern culture and its diversity. Hate speech and intolerance will not be tolerated.
To fulfill this commitment to readers, we will only ever write about the diversity, mysteries, culture, history, myths, and legends of the Middle East.
Anything that has an inkling of Middle Eastern culture is welcome. If you’d like to contribute, all you have to do is say hello in the comments below. Join us on an Arabian odyssey!
