CHECK OUT THE FULL REPORT HERE!

Last week we unveiled our annual 100% data driven A State Of Dance Music report, compiling the top tracks, live sets, radio shows, labels, users, and much more. 2023 was another massive year for dance music. We’ve watched many new artists pop off, while genres like techno — including big room techno, melodic techno, and hard techno — continue to surge across the world. Many other genres are on the rise, like Afro house and drum & bass, and we’re excited to watch new trends unfold in the year ahead.

Each year, traffic on 1001Tracklists continues to rise as a record-breaking 7.6 million people used 1001Tracklists in 2023, visiting the site more than 68.5 million times throughout the year. Dance (20.7%) has eclipsed Tech House (19.7%) as the top genre on the platform this year, followed by Mainstage (10.3%), House (10.2%), Trance (9.9%), Melodic House & Techno (9.7%), Bass House (7.3%), and Techno (4.3%).

The top track of the year goes to Mau P with “Gimme That Bounce” on Insomniac Records. Last year he finished with the #3 track of the year in “Drugs From Amsterdam,” so he scores a second straight Top 3 track of the year, which is an amazing achievement and representative of his ascent into stardom.

Coming in at #2 is MEDUZA’s Edit of “Everything You Have Done” by GENESI. The Italian trio, who finished third in the Top 101 Producers 2023, stay red hot as they churn out one hit after another. At #3 is John Summit ft. Hayla — “Where You Are.” Rounding out the Top 5 is Peggy Gou at #4 with radio sensation “(It Goes Like) Nanana” and “Rhyme Dust” by MK & Dom Dolla at #5.

This year’s top tracklists are dominated by Ultra Music Festival Miami, with 7 out of the top 10 going to Ultra. For the second year in a row, Martin Garrix’s Ultra set was the most viewed tracklist of the year. Coming in at #2 is Hardwell’s Ultra set, and in third is Four Tet, Fred Again.., and Skrillex with their surprise closing set at Coachella. Next up is Hardwell’s set from Tomorrowland, Swedish House Mafia at Ultra, Alesso at Ultra, Marshmello at Ultra, Timmy Trumpet at Ultra, Afrojack at Ultra, and Armin van Buuren at Untold Festival in Romania.

Spinnin’ Records is once again this year’s top label, their fifth consecutive #1 finish. They are followed by Armada Music and Insomniac Records, who continue to be big climbers, going from #26 in 2021 to #8 last year and now up to #3 in 2023. Musical Freedom and Revealed Recordings are in the Top 5 again this year, coming in at #4 and #5, respectively. Toolroom Records moves up 3 spots into 6th place, Atlantic Records moves up 3 spots to #7, Afterlife Recordings breaks into the top 10 at #8, Armind Recordings remains in the top 10 at #9, and Tomorrowland Music surges into the top 10 at #10.

Tiësto’s Club Life radio show remains the #1 radio show of the year for the third year in a row, followed by our own 1001Tracklists Exclusive Mix series at #2, A State Of Trance from Armin van Buuren and Ruben de Ronde at #3, Keinemusik Radio Show at #4, and Heldeep Radio from Oliver Heldens rounding out the Top 5.
