Finding a home

“We found a place. THE place. An old farm. Not pretty. But pretty perfect for our needs. Two orchards. Two acres. Fruit trees to harvest; apples, pears, figs. Walnut trees for a granddaughter’s swing. Well, well, what’s this? Water too. Swifts nesting. A barn owl. What a hoot. A courtyard of outbuildings, an outline sketch. Colouring between the lines as seasons unfold. A simple, gentle place for a simple, gentle life. The village, a leisurely stroll away through woodlands. An encouragement to slow our pace, to let life unfold. An encouragement for others to do the same. Our Encouragement Farm.”
