Get ready for beautifully messy!

As we go into tonight’s launch for @100xARt District in @decentraland I want to frame what we are doing & why because what you are about to experience is the VERY edge of what’s possible in the The Open Metaverse

On the one hand we are showing what’s possible with multimedia NFTs in the context of Art. The 100xARtists are all creatives pushing the technical boundaries of what’s possible and it’s insane. The medium and its limitations both informing their art and vice versa.

On the other we are showing what’s more broadly possible in OPEN virtual worlds. Where everything from buildings to any & all content is built, collaboratively, bottom up & largely on open source code. There is no slick AAA Gaming Studio with thousands of people here.. yet

There is NO central 24 hour technical support. Decentraland have offered zero assistance to our builders. I’m not sure it even exists! Everyone is helping one another out as they break stuff, with the chain effects of also doing this in shared virtual spaces REAL TIME!!

Because much of what happens onchain we are heavily dependent on what’s going on with the underlying protocols like Ethereum both generally and at any given moment.
