A spare office chair

Context
You want to foster collaboration within your team and between your team and people from the environment like stakeholders or members from other teams.
Action
Place an additional spare office chair in your team’s room, a chair that can be used for pairing (pair programming, pair testing). The chair may be used by team members so that they don’t have to grab their chair and for people from outside the team to sit down and work together. Place it where everybody can easily see and grab it.
What you gain
You get an office space that is more inviting for people to sit together. It is a clear signal that pairing is welcome in this place.
How to strengthen
Mark the chair in a way that everybody quickly sees and understands what it is for.
In a larger team, you may need two spare chairs.
