Tell us something about yourself. What do you do outside of art and how did you get into art?

My name is Alina, a Romanian woman artist, happily married to the most wonderful man in the world, and mother of 2 gorgeous girls.

I’m military by profession and 2 years ago I had to stay home, being pregnant with my second child. Looking for some alternatives to find myself useful, my husband introduced me to NFTs.

How did you find your way to the NFT space and when did you join?

So last year in September, after some research I was happy to join this space, finding myself in a whole new experience, that changed some of my views and challenged me to push my limits.

What three people have inspired/influenced you?

My husband gave me the impulse I needed so much to start this journey, he encouraged me every day and also believed in me and my work.

Another person that inspired me in this process was Lorena, my sister-in-law, who later joined our team.

What is your motto in life?

Never say never!

I have faith in these words and I will always carry them with me, because after each experience in my life, I was able to say that I am happy that I never gave up!

How would you describe your art in a maximum of 5 sentences?

My work is about diversity.

It expresses my wishes and dreams for a better world, it celebrates my happiness, my sadness, and frustration.

It’s also colorful, allowing escaping into a wonderful place.

What tools do you work with?

I use my camera and also some apps like: procreate, photoshop and lightroom.

What inspires you in your art?

I am inspired by everything and everyone around me.

This world is full of surprises every moment.

How much time do you invest in your art per week?

Depending on my time, being a busy person in general, sometimes I must accept that my personal life and my family are a priority for me.

I spend like 30 h per week in general, sometimes less, sometimes more.

How important is marketing and how much do you invest per week in sales?

Marketing is a very important tool when it comes to sales and sometimes might be overwhelming, but I think that with a good strategy you can’t achieve big things.

I try to be active and promote our work as much as possible every week.

What marketplaces are you in and why those?

We first released our work on OpenSea, then we went on Rarible, Foundation, Voice, Objekt and KnownOrigin.

We tried different platforms because we wanted to see how things works on each one, the community is also diverse, just like our art and we wanted to explore other places as well.

Do you remember your first sale? Tell us about it.

Oh, yes! 2 weeks after we joined this space, we had our first sale.

We were really excited and emotional at the same time. It was a piece created by my husband, and it meant so much for us at that moment.

What other artists do you like and why?

I have many artists on my list that I admire, not only for their work, but also for their character.

It is very important in my opinion to be humble and kind, to respect others and to care about them.

What were your 3 biggest challenges?

It was very challenging to learn about social media, Twitter for example and to be active in the community, especially with my English, which is not perfect.

Also, another challenge was for me to be seen, especially in different time zones.

What were the 3 best experiences?

First and more important, was the fact that I met and connect with so many great people.

I’ve learned new things about art, and I was able to rediscover old passions.

Where do you think NFTs will go in 5–10 years?

No one can tell for sure.

Life is unpredictable but everyone hopes for the best.

I just wish to be here in 5–10 years to see how everything evolved. Because I do believe in evolution and adaptability.

Thank you very much for the interview Anymat.
