Personal site by Minh Pham

Remember the days when we used to carry around chunky portfolios filled with our work? Well, times have changed, and in this digital era, having an online space to call your own is no longer a luxury — it’s pretty much a necessity.

Why create a personal website?

Your personal website is like your digital handshake. It’s often the first thing potential clients or employers see, and let’s face it, we all want to make a good first impression. With your website, you’re in the driver’s seat, deciding how you want to present yourself.

A personal website gives you the freedom to express yourself. Whether it’s that quirky project you did last summer or a massive client project, your website is a stage for all your hits.

Think of your website as your own little corner on the internet. It tells your story, your design journey, and what makes you, well, you! Plus, it’s a neat place to link out to your social media, articles, or any other places you hang out online.

Ever missed an opportunity because someone couldn’t figure out how to contact you? A personal website clears that right up, giving others a straightforward way to get in touch. Plus, you can share updates, post blogs, or just chat about what’s on your mind.

In short, you could look at your personal website as a condensed version of your portfolio. A great first impression that shows who you are, what you do, the level of quality you stand for, and how to contact you.

So if it’s such a no brainer, why haven’t we all done it yet?

Alright, let’s address the elephant in the room. If having a personal website is so great, why do so many of us keep pushing it to the “someday” list?
Designing for ourselves can be… tricky. We want everything to be *just right*, and sometimes, we end up overthinking the little details.
Also, life happens. Client work. Personal projects. Life. We get busy, and suddenly, updating or creating our website feels like a mammoth task we’ll tackle “when things are less hectic.”

Designing for ourselves can be… tricky. We want everything to be *just right*, and sometimes, we end up overthinking the little details.

Should I use this platform or that? Do I code it from scratch or use a builder? The choices can be overwhelming, and sometimes we end up stuck in decision limbo. Talking about decision limbo, what about our visual style? There are so many trends out there, which one is right for our site?

With so much inspiration out there, settling on one design, color scheme, or even font can feel like an impossible choice.

You don’t have to do it alone!

Now, imagine having a roadmap — a guide to get you from idea to live website. That’s where the personal website bootcamp comes in.

In our 4-week bootcamp, you and other members of 10x will go through the same curriculum and launch a fresh personal website by month’s end. Together, we’ll navigate the challenges, celebrate the wins, and keep each other on track. With a mix of live sessions, a-sync lessons, expert feedback, and structured timelines, that dream personal website won’t feel so elusive.

Having a space you can call your own is invaluable. It’s your story, your way. And if the idea of setting it all up feels daunting, remember, you don’t have to go it alone.

Dive into our bootcamp, and let’s make that website a reality. Check out the links below to learn more. Our first bootcamp launches on the 1st of November 2023.
