Different mobile and web development companies provide different types of communication with their clients. Some communicate in a wrong way that affects the project and the final product itself.

It Doesn’t Exist If It Isn’t Written Down

Every human has a unique process of thinking. This is why people understand information in their own way. It may differ from the idea that was applied by the creator of information.

Information in messages, docs, graphics, and spreadsheets reduce misunderstanding in the communication process.

Two Types of Communication

There are two types of communication: verbal and non-verbal. Each type is good for different purposes.

Non-Verbal: Written down information works best for results, totals, and conclusions.

Verbal: Meetings, team motivation, and chats work better with video calls through Skype, or even real meetings because mimics and gestures are added to the voice.

Communicating Using Online Service

We believe that non-verbal communication should definitely go through online services. We use Basecamp. We also believe every verbal communication should end with conclusions or like a thesis.

Basecamp makes it possible for the client and every teammate to see firsthand information. The development team reads feedback and questions from the client, and the client reads reports and answers from the team.

Also, information is stored in an online service where we can come back to it in the future to make something clear.

Professional Team + Good Communication = A Successful Project

Clear and precise client questions and requests make possible the chance to give appropriate consultations, share pluses and minuses for different decisions, and reason through them.

After the consulting is over, it is quite important to summarize all of it. Asking general questions with “Yes” or “No” answers usually work well. This helps to avoid innuendos and allows the team to start implementing the discussed features. Chat will also continue until the best decision is found.
