An app tutorial is an important component of different types of mobile apps. Its main goal is to show the interface and main functions of the product to users.

If your application has big functionality or a complicated and unusual interface, a little tutorial is a good idea. A tutorial is often found in games, but sometimes it is also required in entertaining and business apps. In mobile games, a tutorial appears to be an easy stage of the game where users pass the level following advice. Remember that people delete apps if they can’t figure out how to use it by the first launch of the application; or they forget about an app and never use it again.

App Tutorial Must Have

Short. An app tutorial must be as short as possible. Don’t overload users with a large amount of info. Just share info about the main functions of the app. In this case, you will save some user’s time and minimize the possibility of losing the user because after installing an app everyone wants to start using the app.

Minimum text. Don’t try to make your users read all of a tutorial’s info, but make them do. Make users interact with your app to learn its functionality. Easy animation or even short videos can be used for this. Progress indicator. This will show users how much of the tutorial is left. In any case, there would not be much left because you followed the first tip in this list and kept the tutorial short, right?

Ability to say no. Make it possible for users to skip the tutorial. Advanced users may interact with your product along with users who have experience interacting with similar apps or have already been introduced to the app.
