Sometimes I ask interesting musicians to record a mix that contains only their own music. Check a Marco Lazovic showcase with ambient jungle and intelligent dnb. Sounds like we’re listening to a CD that someone forgot to send to the Good Looking in ‘96.
Marco: “I’m interested in that particular sound called Artcore, Intelligent Drum x Bass and so on. Actually, I’ve been listening to Jungle and Drum x Bass music relatively recently. Of course I knew these genres; in 1998–2000 there were some compilations of Jungle music on cassettes. But they never really appealed to me.
But a few years ago I started listening to Jungle, I even remember in 2014 I wrote my very first track in this genre. Some time later a friend of mine dropped Pariah — Catalyst (720 Re-Edit) and that’s when I fell in love with the music. Inspired by someone who is already on everyone’s radar — Photek and his various alter egos. I love Future Engineers, PFM, Artemis for example. When it comes to labels, there are no secrets either: Good Looking, Moving Shadow and early Metalheadz.”
