Documentary: High Tech Soul. The Creation of Techno Music • 2006

Derrick May used high-tech soul to describe at least his own music. He didn’t agree with Atkins’ techno, especially since that was similar to what horny Florida rappers called themselves, possessing only a Roland 808 and toilet rhymes. The result is well-known: Derrick hold onto his own opinion, while the whole world now knows about techno.
