It’s been three years since we last wrote a year in review post and are missing it! Let’s pick up where we left it last time and review this year.

See our previous posts from 2016 & 2015.

Quick recap

To recap what has happened in the past few years, our team has evolved. At this point, we both have designers and developers on-board which enables us to take on full projects from start to finish.

We hit the jackpot with our design team, which consists of three talents in both User Experience Design (UX) and Visual Design (UI). We are very happy with this evolution and are looking for more great people to join us!

New Home

Our old office had gotten too small and we needed a spacious home. After crunching the Stockholm market, we finally stumbled upon an attracting space that fulfilled our needs.

There was a catch, it had to be totally renovated and rooms built from scratch. An architect was signed, construction workers were called out and our team was mobilized to make this all happen — within a month.

This new office is on the island of Södermalm at Blekingegatan number …wait for it… 14 of course :D

Making it happen

Our long-standing client this year was Proxy, a San Francisco startup that is re-inventing digital identities and access control. We’re helping their team define, design and build their digital products. We facilitated two design sprints in New York, collaborated on their marketing site and got our own Proxy reader on the 14islands office door.

We created a website for the global startup generator Antler. Made a 3D experience as part if our 3rd collaboration for the telecom-giant Ericsson. Built a website for the AI startup Peltarion. Created a marketing site for the publisher platform Authory along with bringing their product to the next level.

Also, for you to keep us accountable, our goal is to ship a new studio website in 2020. It will include new case studies and other goodies.

Sharing and caring

Within our busy schedules, we try to make time to share our progress. Hjörtur was pulled in on an interview with Prismic. Marco had two talks about creative coding in Brazil. We wrote about the award-winning Christmas hack we did last year and our recent experience with CMS systems.

If you want to keep up with us, our go-to place to share updates is Instagram. Follow along!

Team events

Boule, Snooker, Summer swim, Oktoberfest, Prison escape, and Japanese spa are among the fun stuff we did this year.

It’s a wrap

This time of year, we want to take the opportunity to thank all our friends, partners and you for good times so far. We wish you an amazing year!

PS: We’ll have some tropical news to share soon.
