Life at MIT Sloan is more than just the courses that you take and the concepts that you learn. It is about the people that you interact with — the brilliant professors who teach you and the diverse group of people that you are fortunate enough to call your classmates, colleagues, and friends. Over the past two years, I have gotten to know these people and consider many to be more than friends — they have become family.

Many top business schools will talk about their culture. MIT Sloan has a unique culture because of the diversity of the people it brings together in each ocean. They are driven yet humble. They do not take themselves too seriously, and know how to have fun, unwind, and just be silly at times. They are always up for an adventure and want to see the world. They are supportive of one another and have school spirit. They believe in teamwork and MIT’s motto of “Mens et Manus,” which is a Latin phrase meaning “Mind and Hand.”

MIT Sloan students know that studying at this institution is a privilege. And they know that because they have been so privileged, there is a world out there full of infinite possibilities waiting for them. In selecting a photo collage that can be shared across several social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, I wanted to convey a sense of what life at MIT Sloan has meant to me over the past two years. Hence, I hope that the below collage showcases the diversity of the students who I have had the honor of studying with. I also hope that these photographs convey a sense of the extraordinary people that I have come to know as family and that have made my life at MIT Sloan all the more richer.

This post is part of a blog series for a Social Media Management course that I am taking at MIT Sloan School of Management. For this blog, we were asked to create a piece of social media content that depicted life at MIT Sloan and to explain our thought process.
