Announced in July, 2017, the goal is to create an Indigenous Peoples Atlas of Canada by taking the current Canadian map, erasing all the lines and redrawing it to reflect “Indigenous territories, trading routes, language groups, treaties, stories, art, resources, and other points of interest from the long Indigenous history of Canada,” according to this cbc.ca article.

Led by the Royal Canadian Geographical Society, and receiving $2.1 million in Federal funding, the map is supposed to be ready for the public unveiling by the end of 2017.
