Shayanne Wright is an impressive founder. We were introduced to Shayanne through our friends at the Thiel Foundation last year and she’s continued to exceed expectations. In that year, she’s built a software-as-a-service company working directly with groups and organizations traveling together. Shayanne Wright built LEFT, and today we’re glad to announce our investment in the company.

Michael explains how Shayanne hit a lot of the traits we look for in the founders with whom we work.

We’ve watched her over the last year as she’s gone from idea, to mockups, to pilots, to customers using LEFT. Just like the Hamama team, Shayanne actually got into the weeds with customers and worked directly with them to get them on LEFT. She possesses a rare ability to build out a product and talk to customers that we love to see in founders.

During our diligence process, we checked in with a few of her existing customers and they sang her praises. Not only had she done an excellent job conveying the value of LEFT to them, but she got them evangelizing about it to us. That speaks to a few of the important founder intangibles we look for in a team before investing.

LEFT takes the logistical hassle out of group travel (think church groups, school groups, and organizations running travel programs). Instead of having to track and coordinate flights between flight-tracking apps, follow travelers between different messaging apps, and store emergency information and itineraries between Dropbox, Google Drive, and physical papers, everything comes together in a secure, easy-to-use, and automated web or mobile interface. The product already has strong traction and MRR growth.

This is LEFT’s first round and we’re investing alongside Quake Venture Capital, Moodoos Investments, the CEO of n3xtcon, and Women’s Startup Labs.

Welcome to the 1517 portfolio, Shayanne and team LEFT!
