San Bartolo is a good maintained beach placed 45 to 60 minutes from Lima. In San Bartolo you can find a clean and beautiful beach full of people surfing and enjoying the different spots like restaurants and houses. Every time i go to San Bartolo i have a great time, it has a nice “malecón” where you can walk, run, play with your dog or just sit down and enjoy the incredible view. Inside the ocean, you have to be extra careful with the sea urchins, they are everywhere on the rocks, but still the sea is amazing.
A Happy Place You’ll Ever Want to Go
The beach is really famous because it is a really nice place where you can bring peace. This is really nice if you go surf. The beach is as peaceful as your old child dreams. The area of the beach is 45.01 km and its location from Lima to San Bartolo is 45 minutes even, but with traffic almost an hour. The temperature is always a clean weather, sun is always present. In this moment (Friday December 11, 2015), the weather is 21 degrees Celsius. Check this link to find the weather. An expert on San Bartolo’s beach and waves is Roberto Meza. He is constantly living there. I know him because he told me that he lived there because I once met him surfing there.
Keep Calm and Surf On
The feelings that you have by surfing are a big doses of adrenaline and of excitement. Depending on the size of the wave will be the day that you come. You may see animal life for example fish and sea urchins in every solid rock. I surfed the past three years in this beach and I think that it is really fun for beginners and more experienced surfers. I would thoroughly recommend San Bartolo not just because of the surfing, the people and the experience to take home knowing home that you surfed one of the best Peruvian waves in the history of surfing.
Peace on the Wake
The San Bartolo Malecon is very similar to Miraflores Malecon but the San Bartolo Malecon is much better in the other hand in San Bartolo Malecon you will only see 5–10 persons walking and on Miraflores Malecon you will see 200–300 people, even more. The extended solid floor of the Malecon will be the best experience you will ever have. This has made me reflect about how much we have to appreciate life and how much you are going to take the juice out of this wonderful Malecon. These Malecon made me think and reflect about myself and several ideas about life. This Malecon is really famous because on your way walking, you are very close to the sea you could watch local and non-local surfers having fun and surfing when they just can appreciate mother nature for giving us good waves and healthy beaches that’s why I really recommend this wonderful experience to everyone that wants to enjoy a good time in the Malecon of San Bartolo.
The Best Food From the Best Place
The restaurant Rosita has been my favorite local restaurant I’ve ever been first of all you have to have in mind that this is not a fancy restaurant they only accept cash in soles. Try not to exceed the 100 soles bills when paying the check. This is a good restaurant not just from an expert opinion by a food critic chef that has recommended this restaurant to all Peruvians in his famous channel called El Camino de la Comida. For me it is really impressive that the local restaurant is getting such recognition for their hard work in Peruvian gastronomy. I like to get there a ceviche and a chicharron de calamar and a cold Inca Kola. This always makes my day after surfing and makes my energy come back that’s why I would recommend to all audience that want to try the Peruvian food.
Feel Safe that Nothing Will Go Wrong
Jose Castro Reyes is a manager of the security patrol in San Bartolo. Jose has a really important job because he is in charge of sending security patrol to every sector of San Bartolo. San Bartolo has been divided by sectors that only policemen know. If you go to this beach you will see always a watchman taking care of you. This is why you can leave your car and go surf, eat or do another activity and feel safe that nothing will go wrong. The emotions that I feel are very powerful because I can feel safe of leaving my car and nothing will happen and I think it is really good to have safe streets in San Bartolo.
Conclusion about why someone should go to San Bartolo
As a conclusion i think that San Bartolo is worth it, i recommend it to all the people, specially to surfers. If you travel to Peru or you are just looking for a great day with ocean view and delicious lunch, this is the place to go!
