The composer behind the timeless melody of In My Life, a pivotal track on The Beatles’ influential album Rubber Soul, has remained shrouded in mystery for nearly six decades.

Paul McCartney took full credit, yet John Lennon maintained that Paul’s contribution was minimal. This has sparked a heated debate that continues to intrigue fans and music scholars alike.

Harvard’s 2018 AI study probed the mystery of In My Life’s authorship, hinting at an 81.1% chance Lennon penned the verses, while McCartney’s likelihood trailed at 18.9%. This technological twist introduces complexity while leaving much unresolved, with plenty of the story still untold.

As a fan and a musician, I aimed to delve beyond mere statistics and uncover the narrative behind the music and the music itself. It didn’t take me long to realize I wasn’t deciphering just the song In My Life. I was uncovering something much more complex: the dynamics of Lennon and McCartney’s partnership.
