DO be sure to arrive on time.

DON’T let them see your Biden/Harris bumper sticker as you pull in.

DO be sure to wear something red.

DON’T ask them why they’re still wearing their MAGA hats.

DO be sure to wear something white.

DON’T trick yourself into thinking this is the time or place to open a dialogue about white privilege.

DO be sure to wear something blue.

DON’T pay too much attention to the banner on their front lawn reading “Back the Blue”.

DO thank your relatives for hosting.

DON’T say that who would host was decided by a free and fair election.

DO find that one left leaning relative you can commiserate with.

DON’T pick one who watches MSNBC. Their parroting of talking points will bore you to tears..

DO keep them laughing by using those inside jokes your family has been recycling for 20 years. Like when Uncle Willy called out sick from school to go to a Sox game and ended up on the front page of next morning’s paper.
