7 Patterns Entrepreneurs Have In Common
If you want to build a business. Fast. Pay attention. This post is going to be short, sweet and to the point. The 7 common behavioural patterns you will find in successful entrepreneurs.
1. Having a Clearly Written Why
Always start with a why. Figure out your goals and know why you want it.
Write it down and read it everyday. Having your why will get you by your bad days.
2. Follow the 20 mile strategy
Take 1 hour of action per day. Based on a story of 2 groups who hike to south pole, one group rushed while the other group just commit to 1 hour. The latter one died, and the other group reached on time and alive. So don’t rush and burst (like hackathons), just focus on consistent 1 hour of each day :)
Write down you goals and prioritize according to strategic importance. Ensure you’re doing highest leveraged activities. Turn off distractions. Set a timer for 60 minutes. Don’t stop until the timer goes off.
3. The skill of reflection
Success and failure is temporary. Instead, believe in learning and progress. If you don’t reflect, you follow the pattern over and over again, and you miss the area you can improve. So if you don’t take the time to reflect, you actually slow yourself down in the long run. Reflecitng allow yourself to step outside yourself and objectively look at what you’ve done, and do it better.
After the timer goes off, ask yourself these 3 questions:
Review this journal daily, weekly.
4. Accountability
Have a partner to keep you accountable by making sure your work is 80%. 80% prevents procrastination and perfectionism. Its good enough. Accountability is not really about kicking your partner’s ass, its about you able to detect a pattern of limiting beliefs, and help the other person become aware of them.
So, find a way to be accountable day to day.
5. Give more than you take
Because that’s the abundant perspective. The world is abundant. The more you give, the more you get in return. Embrace the abundance perspective. When you find yourself jealous and envy of other’s success, or when you are clinging to your money as much as possible and you don’t like this feeling, switching to abundance perspective will give you freedom here.
So, focus more on helping and providing value to other people’s life as much as possible.
6. Say yes, and figure out the how later
Put yourself with your backs against the wall. Having constraints keep you creative on how to get things done. Focus on the sale. Worst case scenario, you can always refund someone. If you have a strong enough why, your how can always take care of themselves. Doubt and nervousness are good signs. They are a good sign we’re on the right path.
7. Reach out for help, where you’re lost
Reach out to mentor the moment you need something. Don’t find mentros who are 10 steps ahead, but just 2 steps ahead.
