April 6: Game of Thrones
The full suit of armor appears to be a statue. It stands still in front of a plastic Iron Throne and it does not move. Girls in short skirts take photos with it, their arms stretched in front of their faces to hold their iPhones. Someone does a spot for TV standing there, interviewing the fans, who scream in anticipation.
Tonight they will get to see the Game of Thrones premiere six whole days before it airs for the rest of the masses. They’ll see it if they get in line early enough. So to pass the line time, they take turns sitting on the throne. The plastic version is not made of actual swords; its edges are soft and rounded off. They take photos of what appears to be a statue.
But, if you look closely enough, into the visor on the hard metal helmet, you can see the tired eyes of an underpaid actor moving back and forth from selfie to selfie.
