Faculty Reviews! I was simultaneously very nervous and very calm about my review, but it ultimately went very well and I received very actionable feedback, which I will outline below:

  • Ensure that the use of the book is made very clear upfront — the interactive element, and that it is supposed to guide the user to a more creative state of mind.
  • Consider the format of the physical book — perhaps soft cover would make people want to use it more? If this is intended to be adjacent to a “self-care” moment, would it be more logical to make the book feel very approachable?
  • Consider if this should potentially be a project intended for group settings — would this enrich the experience?
  • What would a group-oriented book look like? Would there be a companion notepad that groups of individuals could pull from?
  • Really think about the prospective user — who do I want to use this book? Right now it seems like a jazz enthusiast would be likely to be drawn to it. Perhaps I want any creative person to feel they can use it. How do I create this intrigue?

All of this feedback feels very logical and actionable, and it has given me a spark to keep moving forward and stepping back to reframe the project a bit. Now, to move forward!
