Shapes vs. Outlines

For this book, I created a pattern based off some Israeli tile art. I incorporated my color palette into this pattern that I then used on certain pages in the book:

These spreads started to feel vibrant and fun, but felt disconnected from the other spreads in the book, which were more monochromatic and used more outlines than these shapes.

I worked on different ways of incorporating the colors into the other pages, but ultimately I decided to turn the shapes into outlines like the other pages:

It feels more cohesive as a system now, but I do miss the colors. If anyone has a preference either way, I’d love some feedback!
