I AGREE so MUCH with the premise of the Animal Slander series. As we face regular accounts of extinction I find myself thinking a lot about how we humans work hard with our words and stories to hold ourselves separate from the rest of the animal kingdom. Every time an animal is killed as a narrative device or a punchline on screen, I feel it’s a bit like a prelude, willful diminishment of the importance of the myriad species all around us. And then, not one but TWO episodes about composting in the last 2 weeks. Officially a fan!
