One night, when I was taking a bath, suddenly an idea struck me. I rushed out and started to write down the thoughts.

Did you have the similar experiences? I believed most of us did have some moments in life like this. And sometimes we didn’t write down on time. Those ideas were just faded away.

I think the most important thing to get started is write down the idea you had in mind first before everything else. Before you started to evaluate the possibility of this startup idea. Some people just quit too early. There is a common saying in startups that execution is more important than idea. I am not fully agreeing with this. But it did point out the importance of execution. So even you are not sure about the idea. Just don’t kill it before you did the followings.

1. write down the idea.
2. pitch the idea to your friends or family

In Silicon Valley, there was a time full of “Uber for X” ideas around. So thinking of X was kind of easy. And it’s totally possible to turn this idea into profit. The key is about how you’re going to make it happen.

First of all, trying to tell your friends about this idea. Wait for their feedbacks. Then sharing your ideas to even more people. Maybe they’re your friends’ friends or someone you knew may interest this startup idea. Having some co-founders to work on the idea together is great. Even no one would like to start to build the prototype with you right now, it’s still very valuable for you talking out loud your startup idea. You’ll find yourself start to have deeper sense of this idea.

It’s time to apply. Here is a good accelerator — Y Combinator.

“Wait……,” you were hesitated. “Maybe it’s still too early.” Actually you don’t need to worry about this. The application of Y Combinator is very useful tool for you to analysis your current status of startup idea. You don’t even need to have a prototype and still could apply for the program.

I’m not saying prototype is not important. However, the more important thing is you start to take the actions. Surround yourself with people willing to support your idea. The creator of Raspberry Pi once saying that if it wasn’t his wife support and also helped him when he made the prototype of Raspberry Pi. He might still just talked about the idea from time to time instead of making the board came true.

Oh, did I mention passionateness? In my opinion, if you’re passionate enough, you’re actually already ahead of lots people.

What do you think?
