Fultz, 19, played one season at the University of Washington, where he averaged 23.3 points, 5.9 assists and 5.7 rebounds and shot 41.3 percent from 3-point range

If you see a 6–4 kid wearing a University of Washington polo shirt walking around Center City this weekend, there’s a good chance you will be checking out the Sixers’ new draft pick!

Sources report that the Sixers and the Boston Celtics are on the verge of a trade for the №1 pick in next week’s NBA draft.

The Sixers would send a package of draft picks to Boston — including Philly’s №3 overall selection in Thursday’s draft — in exchange for Boston’s turn at №1.

That would put the Sixers in position to draft Washington guard Markelle Fultz and pair him in their backcourt with Ben Simmons, last year’s №1 overall pick who has yet to make his NBA debut due to injury.

Sixers general manager Bryan Colangelo was in Sacramento yesterday to attend a private workout for Kansas’ Josh Jackson. Philly also will hold an individual workout with Kentucky guard De’Aaron Fox today.

ESPN’s Chad Ford reported Thursday that the Celtics, already flush with a stable of guards featuring Isaiah Thomas, Avery Bradley and Marcus Smart, have contemplated using the №1 overall pick on Jackson, a forward.

One source close to the talks expressed confidence Friday that the deal would go through, telling ESPN: “They are swapping 1 and 3.”
