Weeknotes S09:E27
Theme — Something cancelled, something new
“Weeks are the four-on-the-floor kick-drum of eternity” Russell Davies
A couple of planned things didn’t happen this week:
I was due to go to Plymouth for the NeuDICE Living Lab on Tuesday. I decided that I was not up to getting up early to drive there for the time I needed to get there, sure enough I had a bad night of sleep again and whilst I was awake at 7am I would not have been capable of being on the road then.
On Wednesday lunchtime I was planning to be at Northern Value Creators coaching supervision but my Dad had asked me to go with them to Yeovil to look at a potential new motability car and that ended up clashing. I was happy to go test driving but I missed seeing the NVC lot before Christmas. I had even bought a Christmas top.
My Mum & Dad have mobility scooters so any car needs to be spacious enough for them to fit in the boot. He currently has a long wheel base Vauxhall MPV. He has been looking at options for a while and the Skoda Kodiaq was one he was particularly interested in. We took it for a test drive around Yeovil. I have never driven a Skoda and would not have expected the quality interior and smooth, quiet drive.
I put up my Christmas decorations this week at the office.
I have done quite a few coaching and support hours this week which has been enjoyable. Everyone is in reflective, end of year mode including me as I joined Matt Saunders for a great review & planning session on Thursday as part of his Solo Collective membership.
I have decided to run an open session called Tuesday Thriving chat which will be co-ordinated via a Circle group. Please join if you would like to take part. I will run it from Tuesday 19th December 12:30–13:30 to the end of January and then see if it is worth continuing. Part of the reason is that I don’t like January, and I know others feel the same, so this would be a weekly opportunity to have something to look forward to and to speak to different people.
Last week I mentioned how I was getting on with the Zoe app and the glucose sensor. I had to say goodbye to that this week as it lasts two weeks and the time was up. I was a little sad as I enjoyed testing different food. This week I am trying to get different vegetables into my diet.
This is a vegetable, no?

This week has been the turn of Now That’s What I Call Music 4 from 1984.
This week’s play tracks are:
Philip Oakey & Giorgio Moroder — Together In Electric Dreams
and U2 — Pride (In The Name Of Love)
The skip track was Lionel Richie — Hello
Do you agree? If not then you need to get your votes in.
This was my favorite comment:
I was *obsessed* with electric dreams as a child, I’d recorded it from the radio but had the start and end cut off and I didn’t know who it was by, and it was only years later after asking a DJ at the local ‘working mens club’ disco (during the meat raffle) that I managed to get a copy on vinyl. And you tell that to the kids of today and they won’t believe you.
Next week we are in August 1985 with Now That’s What I Call Music 5.
Next Week
Next week I have a couple of long ‘end of year’ sessions booked for clients. I also have one lovely client who coming to the end of their coaching programme and so I have capacity for another.
If you have decided that you would like to take some time at the beginning of the year to get clear, get motivated and get moving on something, even if you are not yet sure what that is get in touch and we can book a discovery call to see if I can help you get there.
