It is Ada Lovelace Day, and events are happening all over the world to celebrate Ada’s life and the continued contribution women make in science and technology. We’ve created a short round-up of things you can do to celebrate Ada Lovelace Day in London.

A day of performance and talks from interesting women in UK tech, Ada Lovelace Day Live! is a great way to celebrate UK women and non-binary people in tech. It will be held at The IET on the evening of Tuesday 8 October and is suitable for those 12+. Book your tickets here.

Global Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon

“Wikipedia famously bears one of the starkest gender gaps in contemporary culture.” — New York Magazine

In 2011, only 10% of wiki contributors were female and only 17% of 2018 entries were about women. Wikipedia suffers from some weighty gender and diversity gaps and to challenge this. The Zebra partnership is co-ordinating a global Wikipedia ‘edit-a-thon’ to draft women back into history. The London division takes place at the Ada National College for Digital Skills on the 9th October between 10am and 4pm and you can drop in at any time.
