How many technical women do you know?
How many women do you follow that are software engineers, developers, programmers, chief technical officers, data scientists, games makers…?

If you could only think of a couple of names- you need to subscribe to our new Twitter list*

Our list is packed full of diverse women working across industries at different levels of seniority; some are just starting their career in technology, others are senior engineers in big companies, and others are founders and makers of their own projects and companies. To give you an idea of who’s on the list, we’ve featured some women below.

Jenny Brennan

Jenny is a software engineer and has worked for some pretty cool companies such as Twitter and Entrepreneur First. She also built Unbias to reduce the effects of unconscious bias on LinkedIn. Jenny is also teaching the next generation of women to code- she’s previously taught for us, Code First: Girls, and Ada College.

Rabeb Ohmani

Rabeb is from Tunisia and has been living and working in the UK for the past 6 years. She’s been a developer for almost a decade now and currently works as a Developer Advocate where she helps other developers around the world build awesome applications. Rabeb is also passionate about changing the technology landscape and bringing more diversity and inclusivity to the industry.

Lizzie Cullen Davison

Lizzie first got excited about tech at university when she joined an evening course that taught her the basics of web development. After a journey of curiosity, self-learning and freelance work, she now works as a full-stack engineer at software agency Pixie Labs. She also teaches- she currently volunteers as a coding instructor with Code First: Girls and was part of our ‘How to Start Your Career in Tech’ workshop earlier this year.

Aisha Jimoh

Aisha recently completed her computer science degree and will soon be starting a career in cybersecurity. Whilst at university, she helped set up a Women in the Tech community to support female students. You can read about her to journey into tech by checking out her blog here.

Tara Reddy

Tara started her career as a veterinarian and spent 6 years in the profession. After undertaking an MBA at London Business School and learning technical skills, she joined Blippar and spent 2 years as a product manager for their innovative augmented reality (AR) apps. Tara is the founder of LoveShark, which is a London-based Augmented Reality studio.

Veni Kunche

Veni is a senior software engineer currently at the US Geological Survey where she builds web apps for researchers and scientists. She is working on making the tech industry more welcoming of underrepresented people through her company Diversify Tech. Diversify Tech is a collection of resources and opportunities for underrepresented people in technology.

Tracey Chou

Tracy Chou is an entrepreneur, software engineer, and diversity advocate. She spent five years at Pinterest as an engineer and tech lead before co-founding Project Include- a non-profit working with tech startups on diversity and inclusion. Chou recently founded Block Party which is solving online harassment and abuse.

Ruchi Sanghvi

Ruchi has a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer engineering. She was Facebook’s first female engineer hire. In 2011, she left Facebook to start her own company, Cove, which she later sold to Dropbox. Ruchi is now the Vice President of Operations at Dropbox and in 2016 established South Park Commons which is a community of technologists and entrepreneurs who join to learn and grow.

Funmi Adewodu

Funmi started her career in accounting before embarking on Makers Academy’s intensive bootcamp and becoming a developer. She now works as an iOS engineer for YoYo Wallet and, previously, worked for Starling Bank. Funmi enjoys sharing her knowledge and volunteers as a teacher for Codebar and Code First: Girls, and also delivers regular talks and workshops.
