Fiona Hill: Expanding audible music
Watch my interview with Australian-based contemporary music composer Fiona Hill. She is a composer specializing in electroacoustics and immersive sound. She composes for diverse settings (e.g. films, television, chamber music, orchestra, live performance, dance, theatre, and audiobooks) and integrates futuristic technologies, such as gestural control devices, with organic acoustic performance. Her works often explore the dichotomy of the natural and industrial worlds. She has been recognized with numerous awards, including an APRA AGSC Women in Screen Music mentorship with Elliott Wheeler (2019), APRA AMCOS Art Music Fund (2018), and Ensemble Offspring’s Noisy Women Commission (2017).
