NFT series: SOUND for RICH PEOPLE by Malte Giesen
Watch my interview with Malte Giesen on his piece SOUND for RICH PEOPLE. It is s a conceptual sound art work which reflects upon NFT technology, the economic aspects of art and the role of artists in this system. The sound file itself is a 27 minute long recording of a white noise generator, incorporated in the AMS III Analog Modular Synthesizer located at the Akademie der Künste in Berlin, Germany.

Malte Giesen is Berlin based contemporay art music composer. His works are being performed in Germany and abroad, among others by the RSO Stuttgart, Sonar Quartet, Quatuor Diotima, sonic.art Saxophone Quartet, Ensemble Ascolta, ensemble recherche, Ensemble Mosaik, l’instant donnée, Ensemble Kuraia, Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart, Ardey saxophone quartet, Namascae Lemanic Modern Ensemble, SUONO MOBILE globally at various festivals, including Donaueschingen Festival, Wien Modern, Klangwerkstatt Berlin, AchtBrücken Cologne, Ars Nova Rottweil, blurred edges Hamburg, Wittener Tage für neue Kammermusik and ECLAT Stuttgart. He is teaching contemporary improvisation at the University of Music Karlsruhe and electroacoustic music at the HfM “Hanns Eisler” Berlin. Since 2021 he is Head of Studio for Electroacoustic Music at the Akademie der Kuenste Berlin.
