A Playground for comedians. The only publication on Medium that consistently updates its content on a daily basis.

If you are an established comedian; a headliner; a feature; or an opening act, this is the place for you to write and polish your new bits. You will have tons of readers from around the world reading it, possibly giving you feedback, but most of all, it will give you the discipline of constantly writing.

You might use some of what you write in your act. Make sure it’s your own material, though. You might use this as a separate venue just to hone your writing skills. But keep it around the three minute range. No one likes a long rambling bit in a comedy club or on this publication.

You can be squeaky clean, or blue, or somewhere in the middle. There is only one criterium: It has to be funny. In my years in writing and performing comedy (almost 30) I’ve seen some brilliant blue acts that deserve their space in this publication. Foul language is not an issue if it’s necessary for the bit.

I will decide what is funny.

I will not edit. If your bit is filled with spelling mistakes, and makes it impossible for the reader to make heads or tails out of it, it’s not going to appear in “3 Minute Bits.”

“3 Minute Bits” provides what no other publication (so far) provides on Medium. A large audience for comedians to hone their craft.

I have been fortunate enough to work with some of the most brilliant comedians in the world, and I learned from them. I know what’s funny.

There will be no racist humor; no shock humor; no cheap humor; no guitar acts; no prop acts; and definitely no magicians. Sorry, Carrot Top.

Include at least two pictures in each post. People like that. Once the post is published…promote it! I have used this site as a checklist to promote my own writing and it works.

No videos. This is for writing humor. Not performing it.

The general turnover time will be 24 hours.

This is for people who love the art of comedy.
