Often, people give and receive the best care with warmth and a bright smile.

If you were a patient and had to choose between the nurse who smiles warmly, gently massaging your buttocks before administering your injection and the grumpy, impatient one who manhandles you.

Whom will you choose?

Gentility with self-care comes in unique forms.

It could be:

— Massaging your knee when it hurts instead of blaming your age for your knee cracking.

— Getting a neck brace to help your sleep better.

— Showing up for physical therapy with a positive smile despite the pain you’re going through.

— Appreciating the caregiver for devoting their time to taking care of you.

— Waking up every morning thankful you quit your obsessions while giving yourself time to break away from them for good.

— Sitting before your dressing mirror and appreciating yourself for showing up every day for yourself and the people who encourage you.
