It’s been a busy few days, with three stories published.

  • DataBasic is a suite of three easy-to-use web tools that help data newbies (and the more experienced) grasp and learn the basics about handling data. I’ve tried them out myself; they’re pretty cool.
  • Codex Hackathon was a fascinating gathering of technologists and book lovers, who worked hard to come up with innovative tools for helping readers and the publishing industry. Check out the cool tools the crowd of 140 produced in less than 48 hours.
  • Last but not least, the regular edition of “3 to read”: How mobile has informed changes to the New York Times’ home page | Why journalists need to understand the open web — and keep it open| Messaging apps need to be explored by journalists.
