Santa Fe Artsy

After a few days of R&R in San Diego, we headed across the desert, ending up in Santa Fe, NM a bit later. If you haven’t been, Santa Fe is one of those rare, must-visit kind of places. A town of some kind since 1609 (making it one of the oldest in the country), it was originally called the Royal Town of the Holy Faith of Saint Francis of Assisi. Whatever you do, don’t miss the gorgeous and inspiring basilica dedicated to St. Fancis, right off the main square.

As for coffee, we hadn’t experienced a good cup for a few days. After a bit of searching, we found an attractive, post-industrial kind of place in what was clearly an artsy part of town. Iconik Coffee Roasters is just the kind of airy, hipster-filled coffee place I was looking for and well, expected. While not really breaking new ground, the atmosphere was comfortable and would be conducive to spending a few hours hear chatting with friends or working on that novel. There was also a nicely appointed exterior patio for warm days.

The coffee was carefully made, and nicely presented (though tasted a tad bitter; burnt even). Certainly a recommend if you’re ever in Santa Fe.
