The Other Suds
Our friend Heather, a fashion designer brought out from the Bay Area by a major retail company, lived in a cool warehouse area called Walker’s Point. Amidst turn-of-the-century industrial buildings were luxurious work/living lofts (like hers), artisan food joints, yoga studios and of course, groovy coffee spots. I counted five well-designed, highly rated shops within a four block radius. For my typical morning routine, I chose Anodyne, less than a mile away. It had a great vibe, served craft beer in the evening and even hosted music shows on occasion. Being early though, the morning crowd was subdued, and, well, artisanal. The cortados to-go were fantastic and more than revved us up for the morning drive westward.
