My 30 Day Writing Challenge
What am I doing, and why am I doing it
I have decided I need to write again. I used to do it a lot — I even have a Masters degree in it — but I haven’t done it for a long time. So it’s time for a challenge.
What is the challenge?
Quite simply, I will be writing and submitting 30 articles in 30 days. I will not be forcing myself to do this to 30 different publications as in the original challenge. I’m up for a challenge, but I know full well once I go back to work in September, this is going to get difficult.
My rules are loose and simple:
- One article every day
- No set topic, so it might be fiction, non-fiction, poetry. No rules there.
- My own publication can only be used a maximum of 4 times. But ideally not at all. I want to grow my readership.
- I don’t have to write every day. That can (and will) happen in bulk on my ‘writing’ days.
What do I hope to achieve?
Quite simply, I want more people to read my work, and to make some money from it. Since I dropped out of Medium they have changed their rules so I need to get to at least 100 followers to make money. So it’s that simple.
Where am I starting?
Not much to improve on, so no excuses!
I’ll attempt to do a weekly post showing how I’m getting on. So fingers crossed I manage it!
