Start here to feel good

Happy April!

This month marks the kick-off of my new Medium publication.

“30 Days of…” will explore the ways life does (and maybe doesn’t) change when we shift our habits and behaviors. Each month I will choose something new to focus on. Then, each day I will blog about how the new habit or behavior is affecting my life.

But I don’t want this to just be about me! If you’re interested in exploring how much of a difference 30 days can make in your life, let me know. I would love to have some other writers join me on this journey!

For me, April 2019 is going to be all about yoga.

Anyone who knows me well, knows that I’ve been practicing yoga regularly for the past seven months. Not really all that long, but long enough to realize that I’m not really starting yoga as a new habit this month. What I’m doing is going deeper. I’m going write about yoga everyday and explore why I love it so much. Everyday I will choose a theme and write about how the day’s idea comes across in yoga and throughoout my day. My hope is that my yoga habit will help inspire others to find something that feels good to them both inside and out…even on the days when nothing seems right.

But there’s more to this month’s behavior. April is also the annual Kiss My Asana Yogathon fundraiser for Minneapolis-based Mind Body Solutions. If you aren’t familiar with this studio you really need to check them out (www.mindbodysolutions.org)! MBS is a nonprofit yoga studio that specializes in adapted yoga. The studio is open to anyone — literally ANYONE — who wants to use yoga to feel better.

The founder of MBS, Matthew Sanford, was paralyzed at the age of thirteen. In his twenties, he discovered how much yoga helped him — physically, mentally, and spiritually. Ever since then, Matthew has been on a mission to share yoga’s power with as many people as he can. Money raised during the Kiss My Asana Yogathon will help to fund teacher training locally, throughout the country, and around the world. If you’re interested in learning more about this amazing organization, please leave a comment below (or contact me via Twitter, Facebook, or email).
